He wears the mark of death on his face. But they almost missed it! OMG

Tina Treadwell had big future plans for her handsome young son. She’s so proud of her gorgeous stud so much so that she sends his adorable pics to modeling agencies in hopes of them recruiting him for the next big gig.

As the proud mommy looks a bit deeper into, she notices an unusual dissimilarity in her son’s big brown eyes…

Once Tina visits the optometrist he breaks the unfortunate news; Baby Taylor is suffering from a retinoblastoma, which is a form of eye cancer that can develop during childhood whose symptoms are hard to notice with the naked eye but much more noticeable in pictures.

The unexpected shock was hard to comprehend. Fortunately the chemotherapy beat the cancer, however, leaving Taylor blind in his right eye.

“It’s so hard to believe that a photo saved his life,” said his mother.

Thanks to Taylor’s aunt’s attention to detail and acknowledgment of the picture, Taylor’s disease is now being treated properly.

Here are some examples of signs that could suggest a retinoblastoma: A milky coloring of a pupil.

Followed by a darkening color of one of the pupils

Or a new noticeable ‘cross-eye’ development

Maybe even unusual swelling that isn’t due to allergies or irritation (However swelling can have many other causes; always consult your physician ASAP)

Iris discoloring..

Its suggested and advised that you try this test with a photo! Take a pic of your kid in a relatively dark place (about 12 feet apart) where the flash is adjusted on the ‘red-eye reduction’ off.

If you think or even in doubt that your child is showing any of the above symptoms, please visit your optometrist as soon as possible for a better diagnosis.
