I DIED TWO TIMES AND CAME BACK: I will tell you now how is it to be dead!

We are fascinated by death for centuries, what happens when it comes to us and expects us in the afterlife, if there is one.

One man died, and he died twice, for about 2 minutes each time – once in a motorcycle accident and one due to overdosing of analgesic drugs. He had AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit and he answered questions about death. It is about one fascinating insight.

It looks that the feeling of the death itself is a lot emptier than you think so, and the man describes it as ‘sleeping without a dream’.

“I had no idea, only black void. Without toughs, unconscious, nothing. Both times I simply ‘wasn’t there’. Everything was black. I would describe it as taking a nap. A short nap without dreaming, you wake up and you feel like you slept for very long, and in fact only 15 minutes have passed. If the doctors said nothing to me, I would assume that I had a short nap”.

We usually think that we will feel only a ‘black void’, but in fact there’s something much more than it.

“Definitely there wasn’t any time flow. Just like taking a nap, you wake up and you don’t feel that some time passed. You know that you have slept for a while, but at the same time you can’t remember anything, except you dreamed about something. I felt something, and that something is nothing”!

When he realized that he’s dying, he could only remember ‘Oh, shit’, which doesn’t surprise too much. It seems to have pains, then nothing, without life. And it sounds really frightening.

As this man already died twice, is he afraid of death at all? Not as others, of course.

“Definitely, I’m less afraid. Now I know that the death is nothing worse than sleeping. When you die, you stop existing and there’s no need for any care”.

However, it sounds really depressive. But at least there’s an afterlife, right?

“A part of me still hoped that there’s a God or Heaven or something similar. I mean, who wouldn’t want that there’s Heaven? But I’m still an atheist, and now I know that there’s no such things like Heaven”.
